SID Display Week 2023 celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, while BOE is celebrating its 30th anniversary. BOE showcased a series of cutting-edge technologies for ADS Pro, f-OLED, and α-MLED, and novel products for various applications.
During the week, BOE held the “Define the Future – BOE Innovation Ecosystem Forum,” sharing our vision and insights with our partners and customers. BOE employees submitted nearly one hundred papers, many of which won the SID Distinguished Paper Award.
At this exhibition, BOE showcased a series of LCD products with the ADS Pro technology. BOE has been continuously pushing the boundaries of high definition, high refresh rates, wide viewing angles, and wide color gamut.
The world’s first 110″ 16K screen attracted a lot of attention from the attendees. BOE’s metal oxide technology with high electron mobility enables this 16K ultra-high resolution without sacrificing image quality.
BOE also presented a laptop display with a 600Hz refresh rate, providing e-gamers with a smoother and faster visual experience.
BOE’s 110-inch UB Cell display has achieved a wide viewing angle, low reflectance, high contrast, high refresh rate, wide color gamut, and high brightness. UB Cell display can show an extremely black state and maintain high contrast in different ambient lighting environments, delivering superior image quality compared to OLED displays.
BOE’s high-end flexible OLED display technology, f-OLED, empowers various applications with new form factors and multi-function integration. For example, the rollable display captures a lot of attention. The display has a rollable length of about 272mm, which can be rolled in 6.5 turns to transform it from a 17″ display to a 10″ display. That provides a lot of design flexibility.
BOE also unveiled the industry’s first bidirectional foldable OLED display, which supports both horizontal and vertical folding.
BOE also showcased the industry-leading flexible OLED screen with LTPO and Tandem technologies, which can achieve up to 2000nits brightness, 20% lower power consumption, and a 3-4 times longer product lifetime.
BOE’s pioneering glass-based active matrix LED (α-MLED) display impressed the audience with its superb picture quality and seamless visual experience.
The industry-leading 163-inch P0.9 LTPS COG MLED display has adopted the gate-in-array design and side-bonding technology. With BOE’s proprietary pixel-level PAM+PWM driving scheme, it delivers stunning picture quality and flicker-free eye-friendliness. It is a perfect solution for a broadcasting studio or a home theater entertainment.
At Display Week 2023, BOE also showcased display products for automotive applications. The smart cockpit features a 42.2″ panoramic display and a 6.94″ electronic rearview mirror. The 10K screen provides vibrant picture quality and immersive viewer experience. The under-screen camera can enable smart detection of driver drowsiness and fatigue, issuing warnings and alerts on dangerous behaviors. The passenger side is an active anti-peeking screen with BOE’s SVC (Smart View Control) viewing angle-adjustment solution, which can limit distractions to the driver during pasenger’s normal use. Furthermore, haptic feedback is integrated to provide precise and responsive touch control.
The 15″ retractable sliding central control screen, integrating flexible display to enable lifting and lowering in various modes.
The wood-textured smart surface with dual 12.3″ hidden screens uses MLED technology to increase display brightness by 50%. The wood texture can match the aesthetics of the cabin interior design.
BOE’s leading 1.3″ 4K4K Micro-OLED VR display achieves 4000 PPI, providing users with a sharper and more immersive viewing experience. That demo was voted “People’s Choice” by the Display Week attendees.
BOE’s 10″ 8K LCD for 3D printing applications won “Display Application of the Year”.
